I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, raised by my mother who was a makeup artist. From the time I was just a little one, accompanying her to work at Glamour Shots with my sisters, I knew that I planned to follow in her footsteps to become an MUA. In her spare time she would doll us up and often used us as her models for practice or in the company's runway shows. I saw the magic in what she did, and began working towards my own career. I began reading her old cosmetology text books and applying the makeup for my elementary school productions of plays.
As I grew older, I got involved in the independent film scene that was blossoming in my hometown, working on set of horror films and documentaries. I practiced beauty makeup as well, offering services for birthday parties, proms, costume parties, and special events. I began traveling to Los Angeles on a regular basis to attend conventions and events, and decided to move there to really pursue my passion. I had a brief apprenticeship, where I learned about fashion and bridal and assisted on weddings. After that, I studied at LA Makeup Academy Los Angeles where I honed my skills in European high fashion, editorial, avant garde, bridal, beauty, airbrush and more.
After working steadily in L.A. in film, television, commercials, music videos, red carpet, runway, head shots, fashion shoots, and more, I ended up moving to San Diego where I have worked for Camera Ready Cosmetics for the last two years. I have grown substantially as an artist during my time with the company, through my interactions with amazing artists and exposure to the industry. I've learned more about working in the industry, professional products, and techniques during this time than I have in my whole life! And I put this to use by spending my days helping new MUA's, makeup enthusiasts, and even seasoned artists with their projects. I now freelance in both San Diego and Los Angeles.
