I made a stop by Naimies in Los Angeles to pick up the Lorac Pro Palette 2, but because I have a problem I ended up purchasing the palette, a Porefection Foundation, and this oil control primer. And color me impressed, this stuff actually works extremely well! As I'm sure you can tell from the picture, it gets quite a bit of use.
With a name like "I'm So Sensitive", you would think this primer was made for me! It is free of common irritants such as oil, silicone, parabens, or fragrance. It's even infused with antioxidants, vitamins and plant extracts to help soothe your skin, keeping it smooth and hydrated.
I apply a light layer of coconut oil (or whichever moisturizer you use), and let is set for a few minutes to soak into to the skin. You will need very little primer, 1/4 of a pinky size will do the trick. I apply this all over, and then also let it set for a few minutes. The trick with primers, which many people skip, is that you do need to let them absorb into your skin before applying your foundation. I might add a bit extra to areas that I feel need it, such as under the eyes or the t zone. I usually apply this with my fingers or a foundation brush, which I find to provide the most even coverage. Once I feel that it has set well enough, usually when I can touch my skin without it feeling too moist or greasy, I will proceed with applying my foundation as normal.
I absolutely love the look and feel of this stuff! I still haven't decided whether I like it more than my Skindinavia Primer Spray, but it is certainly a close call! It levels the texture of the skin by filling in pores and fine lines, and helps the makeup stay in place, acting as a barrier between the oil and foundation. When used with a regular cream or liquid foundation, I still need to set with powder. With my Becca foundation, which as a cream to powder finish, just a spritz of setting spray will do the trick.
This image was taken after I had been wearing my makeup through a full work day and beyond.
And this image was after I had worked all day and then spent an hour at the gym! I didn't have anything to remove my makeup with before working out, but when I got home I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything had stayed!
Maybe you can't tell, through my RBF in all of my pictures, but overall I am pretty darn impressed with this primer! It really does its job, and I haven't noticed any issues with my skin adjusting to it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin, especially those prone to issues with oil.
