If you are unfamiliar with MaqPro, prepare to be impressed. I've played around with these cremes before, but only recently purchased my very own. The particular palette shown above is the PP01, which is mostly flesh tones. They have a much larger series, with palettes comprised of corrector shades, bright colors, lip and cheek colors, and more. They are all made in France, (the companies full name is Le Maquillage Professionnel) using only the finest ingredients. These palettes are worth every dime, and you'll see why!
Don't be deceived by the teensy weensy size of these guys. Each creme is packed with pigment, for the fullest coverage and richest colors. They are made with only the best cosmetic grade waxes, which helps them to blend beautifully and stay in place throughout the day. You need minimal product, for maximum effect. They also don't contain as much oil as many creme products do, which helps them better withstand oil, sweat, and transfer.
The reason that I started with this palette, is because I can pretty much do my entire face with it! There are yellow and apricot correctors, light shades for highlighting, dark shades for contouring, and enough range in colors for me to actually make my full face color. I can even use the apricot as a creme blush, if I wanted to. The formula of the product can be used to do any part of the face, in fact you can do an entire look just using one of their palettes. They can be used as correctors, foundations, blushes, lip colors, creme eye shadows, primers, eyebrow fill in, and anything else you can imagine! If you have ever seen an artist do a whole look with an MUFE Flash Palette, this is the exact same concept. (Look it up, it is fascinating) I have used them as eyeshadow primers, and the darker colors make great blending shades for smokey eyes.
Due to the density of the creme, you need to make sure that you blend them out well and in a very thin layer. I guarantee you will still have solid coverage. For those who do not require heavy coverage, I recommend using the MaqPro Makeup Mixer which is a thinner designed by the same company specifically for this purpose. You mix a drop or two in with the cream, to give it a more fluid consistency. This allows you to apply a much thinner layer, and adjust how sheer you want the coverage. Another great product for this purspose us the RCMA Thinner, or you can even use your favorite moisturizer.
The versatility and high quality of their products make them a must have for pros and enthusiasts alike. Having just a few of these palettes (or the larger 6 color palettes) in your kit will allow you endless possibilities! I highly recommend checking them out, and of course they are available at CRC!
